About our Work
Conceived during Lance McGregor’s tenure as Senior Industrial Designer for Tom Dixon, The Ball Chandelier was created for Swarovski’s Crystal Palace Exhibition in 2005 — a landmark collaboration uniting design innovation with material mastery. The piece, a 1.5-meter sphere composed of hundreds of precision-cut Swarovski crystal balls, is suspended in perfect tension: each crystal individually hung to form an ethereal, floating orb of light. Its geometry and repetition evoke celestial balance — a constellation captured mid-air — while its shimmering transparency transforms illumination into architecture. Both minimal and monumental, The Ball Chandelier exemplifies McGregor’s sculptural sensibility: poetic engineering that merges structural rigor with luminous beauty.
