McGregor’s 2023 Steel & Timber Easy Chair is a study in balance—where sculpted mass meets restrained minimalism. Anchored by bold, carved timber rear legs that stand like architectural pillars, the chair’s silhouette is countered by a visually lightweight steel frame that bends and sweeps with quiet precision. The metal arms loop elegantly around the seat before disappearing into the warmth of the wood, creating intentional points of tension and harmony. A generously upholstered seat and back add softness to the structural clarity, resulting in a moody, modern lounge piece that feels both grounded and elevated. The design celebrates contrast—solid and delicate, warm and cool, sculptural and spare—brought together in a single, confidently understated form.
