About our Work

Informed by the theatrical surrealism of Lady Gaga’s early Haus of Gaga era, McGregor’s design exploration for Monster channels the raw power of performance art into sculptural form. Each bottle iteration becomes a stage prop, an object of transformation — referencing the masks, claws, and chrome-plated couture of Gaga’s Paparazzi, Bad Romance, and Born This Way visual universe. The designs move between faceted alien architecture and the intimate grotesque of the human face, merging beauty and menace into a singular, performative artifact. The early mask studies evoke the persona of Gaga herself — porcelain and exposed, streaked with emotion and eyeliner, while later evolutions take flight as futuristic reliquaries: black and white talons unfurling around a crystalline heart of liquid color. These monolithic silhouettes stand like creatures or trophies, embodying dualities of light and shadow, fame and vulnerability. In Monster, McGregor sculpts a visual mythology of Gaga’s world — at once avant-garde and tender, mechanical and human, forever dancing between art and pop.
