About our Work

Designed by Lance McGregor as the inaugural product for the Tom Dixon brand, the Extruded Screen established the studio’s early design language — experimental, industrial, and elegantly adaptable. Conceived from interlocking translucent PET panels, the flexible system can be infinitely extended to define, divide, or diffuse space. Its rippling geometry and light-reactive surface create a sense of motion and depth, transforming as illumination shifts throughout the day. Crafted from Provista PETG Co-polyester — and in later editions, recycled PET — the design merges sustainability with sculptural clarity. Presented in Milan during the brand’s early years, the screen’s chameleon-like presence embodies McGregor’s vision for modern material architecture: modular, purposeful, and visually fluid. Available in vivid translucent hues of green, blue, and matte grey, the Extruded Screen remains a timeless artifact of Tom Dixon’s formative studio era — and a defining expression of McGregor’s early influence on the brand’s design identity.
