Conceived as a sculptural companion to the larger home system, the F-001 pocket filter distills the essence of purity and transformation into a single handheld object. McGregor’s design embodies duality — the brushed, etched upper hemisphere represents the raw, unfiltered world, while the mirror-polished base signifies clarity, renewal, and flow. Water is poured into the top and passes through an organic, mushroom-inspired membrane — a living architecture of natural fibers and bio-based filtration layers — emerging as purified water from the base. Compact yet profoundly symbolic, the object functions as both a tool and a talisman. Its seamless stainless-steel form speaks to longevity and circularity, designed to endure rather than discard. Like a stone smoothed by time and tide, it celebrates the quiet intelligence of nature, transforming the act of purification into a tactile ritual. Through this collaboration with Parley for the Oceans and BRITA, McGregor envisions a new language of sustainability — one where design, science, and ecology converge in the palm of your hand.
