About our Work
In collaboration with Parley for the Oceans and BRITA, McGregor re-envisioned the future of water purification through a lens of sustainability, modularity, and material poetry. The system centers around a precision-engineered stainless steel core — the “main CPU” — which functions as both a performance instrument and a sculptural object. Inside, a series of nested rings houses a multi-stage natural filtration process, utilizing eco-derived materials and an interchangeable vitamin ring that infuses the water with restorative minerals. Designed to transcend the disposability of traditional filters, the unit connects seamlessly across a family of vessels — from glass carafes to architectural drinkware — encouraging longevity and emotional ownership. Each component is machined for permanence, its tactile surfaces referencing both laboratory instruments and oceanic textures. The polished steel finish reflects the environment it protects, mirroring the collaboration’s mission: to transform utility into awareness, and consumption into care. This concept embodies Parley’s Clean Water initiative — merging science, sustainability, and design in service of the planet’s most vital element. McGregor’s vision reframes filtration as ritual: an act of daily reverence where technology meets nature in elegant equilibrium.
