About our Work

Commissioned as a statement of permanence and craft, this four-meter-long bench by McGregor embodies a dialogue between material weight and refined restraint. Conceived as a brutalist monolith, its scale and proportion create a quiet architectural presence within the foyer space. The primary version features a continuous saddle of stretched leather, tensioned over a solid walnut framework and pinned in place by a linear brass spine—its precision detailing revealing the discipline of joinery beneath the surface. The alternate concept replaces warmth with cool austerity: water-cut marble profiles support a perforated brass seat, polished to a bright gold, where light and pattern interact across the metallic weave. Both iterations balance structure and sculpture—fusing mass and delicacy, permanence and tactility—to form a modern heirloom that anchors its environment with timeless gravity.
